With experience in 70 of the 90 two-digit SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) codes, Dick is nationally recognized as an expert in marketing communications. His experience literally spans the globe.

One of Dick’s strengths is helping companies deal with quick growth and managing the marketing process. His frequent industry lectures have addressed topics such as “How to Gain Market Share When Your Company Is the High Cost Provider in the Category,” “New Product Introductions—The Highs and Lows,” “Is a Global Introduction in Your Future?” and “Protecting Your Brand From Foreign Competition” to name only a few.

Dick has in-depth experience in the real estate, hospitality, healthcare, telecommunications, retail services, and consumer hard goods categories. He understands that because every product is unique, every selling situation is also unique. For this reason, he approaches the strategic planning process with a blank piece of paper. These plans have helped Fortune 500 companies successfully launch new products and services as well as guiding much smaller companies to compete more effectively in today’s highly competitive marketplace. Dick is active in the advertising industry at the local, regional and national level.

He was recently named “Ad Person of the Year” of the Advertising Club of Richmond, an organization for which he served as president. He is also founder and president of the Virginia Advertising Coalition. Nationally, he is an active member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and he belongs to the International Advertising Association whose membership roster includes agencies in more than 20 countries.
