ESI'S "BIG COOKIE" WINS BIG
Duke's Mayonnaise Creative Recognized at New York Festivals, IBA

Richmond, VA. — "I've baked cookies bigger than you," says Grandmother #1 while wielding a wooden spoon toward the camera. The nerve, she suggests, of crediting a mere mayonnaise as her secret to culinary success. Duke's mayonnaise may be the secret for her cookie recipe, but she's the secret to Edelmann Scott, Inc.'s success in creating an award-winning television spot for client C.F. Sauer Co., the Richmond-based maker of the ubiquitous southern classic, Duke's Mayonnaise. She and Grandmother #2, a winning creative team, a market-driven concept and more than memorable execution according to Edelmann Scott's president and chief executive officer Richard J. Scott.

"Big cookie" has been recognized for creative excellence by two of the industry's most prestigious creative award competitions: The New York Festivals World's Best Work out of 12,000 worldwide entries, and The Hollywood Radio and Television Society's International Broadcasting Awards out of 1,500 worldwide entries. Advertising is like religion," says Mark Sauer, C.F. Sauer's vice president of sales. "You've got to have a little faith." So far, his faith and Edelmann Scott's award-winning creative process have paid off. Sales of Duke's mayonnaise have risen in all markets since the spots' airing.
